If your servers update themselves unattended, that moment is now what attackers aim at. An unidentified attacker targeted OPSSHIELD, the company behind cPGuard, which notified customers and partners by email. CISA added a WordPress Core time-of-check time-of-use race condition, CVE-2026-119977, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and The Hacker News reports the agency cited evidence of active exploitation of the high-severity flaw during software upgrades. So the upgrade window is itself the opening, which means pinned versions, signature checks on what arrives, and a review of what your servers are allowed to call out to all matter as much as being current. We inventory the update channels across a fleet and lock them down. A small engagement like this takes days, not months, and we tell you cost and timeline within a day. Send us the list of servers you are unsure about and we will tell you where the update path is unguarded.
