We no longer ask candidates about the worst bug they ever fixed. We ask how they noticed it was happening at all.
The fix story is rehearsed, the detection story isn't. People who have actually run a system talk about thresholds, false positives, and who got paged. Everyone else says a user reported it. You probably know already which of those two answers you'd give.
