Most of what makes a website look cheap has little to do with the design, it's the half-second after a click. A form that gives no sign it was received, a submit button that can be pressed twice and sends twice, an error that says "something went wrong" without saying what: each one quietly tells the visitor that nobody is home behind the page. We build those states with the feature instead of adding them as polish at the end. You probably remember the last site that left you unsure whether your form actually went through.
